The 500 Series is the smallest of the Greenteeth systems and suits most stump grinders under 20 hp. From 20 to 45 hp run the 700 Series, from 40 to 85 hp the 900 Series, and above that the 1100 Series. The series are not interchangeable: a 500 Series tooth fits a 500 Series pocket only, so identify which system your wheel is drilled for before you order.

Green or Red? Both are three-sided carbide teeth that rotate in the pocket to bring a fresh cutting side into the cut, and both come in boxes of 25 with spacers and nuts. The Green tooth has a shallow-dish tip built for tougher, rockier and more unpredictable soil. The Red tooth has a deep-dish tip that cuts faster in cleaner soil. Crews grinding close to grade in mixed ground usually run Green; crews working clean fill usually run Red.

Pockets and bolts. Our LoPro pockets come in straight and angle, with reduced thickness for better clearance, more bolt surface area for clamping pressure, and a threaded counter-bored hole so the pocket can go on either side of the wheel. Bolts are sold separately in 1-3/4, 2, 2-1/4, 2-1/2, 2-3/4 and 3 inch: match the length to your wheel thickness. Replace the bolts with every set of teeth, because they stretch, and torque them to 180 ft-lbs with anti-seize or 240 ft-lbs dry. The WSG500-NUT is 5/16-18 and takes a 1/2 inch wrench.
